K.F.R. put out Total Art on 31 October, six tracks, with Déhà playing drums on it.
The shape is the first thing to notice. Only the title track is short, at four minutes. Everything else runs past seven, and the closer, The Monster People Fear, is fifteen minutes eighteen, which is more than a third of the record on its own.
Déhà on drums is the other fact worth holding. He appears on a volume of extreme metal records that is difficult to track, usually playing most of the instruments himself, so being brought in for one job on somebody else's album is the unusual arrangement rather than the expected one.
The project is Maxime Taccardi's and it has been running since 2013, beginning in Paris and now working from New York. Twelve full-length albums inside thirteen years, across more than thirty releases in total, is a rate that puts it closer to a practice than to a discography.
Time to Kill Records has the newer material. The titles on this one keep to Latin and plain English in turn: Speculum Fractis, Casum Hominis, I did it for You, The Dark Blood of Resentment.
