Metal Blade Records have put King Diamond's Halloween back in print as a picture disc, out now through the label's own store.
The timing is the whole idea. The single appeared in 1986, the same year as Fatal Portrait, and the reissue lands eight days before the night it is named after. Labels have been doing this with that record for most of four decades, which tells you how reliably it sells in the last week of October.
A picture disc is a collector format rather than a listening one. The image is pressed into the vinyl itself, which costs you surface noise and gains you a sleeve you can put on a wall, and nobody buying one in 2026 is doing it for the audio.
For the Danish singer it is another piece of a catalogue that keeps being repackaged while the band continue to tour, and the early material is the part the reissue programme keeps returning to.
