Knife have announced Into Your Nightmare, their third album, out on 18 December through Napalm Records, and released Shadows as the first single.
Shadows is the album's closing track, which is an unusual thing to lead with. The band call it rapid and shrieking, and say it holds you by the neck after the last note. On the record as a whole: “The Knife is back to give all you maniax what you need,” they said. “The Chamber of Storms has opened its gates and out comes the most relentless and versatile piece of sonic steel.”
Napalm describe it as heavier, wilder and grimmer than what came before, and the band as celebrating what they call the unholy trinity of speed metal, black metal and scabious punk.
Knife formed in Marburg in 2019 and put out a self titled album in 2021 and Heaven into Dust in 2023, with the Locked In, Sounds of Sacrifice and Live Leather Hounds EPs around them. Vince Nihil sings, Laz plays guitar, Gypsy Danger has been on bass since 2020 and Thanatos took the drums this year.
