Kreator have published film of themselves playing "Blind Faith" in Tuttlingen, Germany, in 1987. "A throwback to us performing Blind Faith at a VERY early Kreator show," the band wrote. Oliver Barth shot it.
Footage like this is rarer than it sounds. German thrash in 1987 was played in halls with one camera at the back if there was a camera at all, and almost nothing from that circuit survives in a watchable state. What exists is usually a copy of a copy, handed between tape traders until the band themselves have no better version than the fans do.
The song comes from Pleasure to Kill, the record that fixed what the band sounded like, and the show is from the year after it, with the band barely out of their teens.
A set from Welcome To Rockville earlier this year is also online, which makes for an unintended comparison across thirty nine years, and the striking thing is how little the songs have had to be adjusted.
