Lake Of Tears will play live again in 2027, eleven years after they last did, and after Daniel Brännare's illness. The first confirmed date is Hades Festival on 7 May, with a second festival in late July and more promised.

Brännare has been treated for leukaemia, and the band's continued existence through that period was a matter of records rather than rooms. Ominous arrived in 2021 and was made while the rest of the world assumed the group had quietly finished.

The first date is in Borås, which is where they formed in 1992 and where Brännare still lives. Starting a return there rather than at a large European festival is the smaller and better choice.

What this band meant in the 1990s is hard to explain to anybody who arrived later. Between Headstones and A Crimson Cosmos they turned Swedish doom into something closer to psychedelia than to misery, and almost nobody followed them into it.

No full tour has been announced, and nothing has been said about new material.
