Laser Dracul release Hin Hale Blues tomorrow through Majestic Mountain Records, and it is streaming in full now.

Hin Hale is an old Swedish name for the Devil, and the record is built out of the folklore and superstition of Dalarna, the province the band come from. That is a more specific source than most bands in this genre bother with, and it is the difference between Sabbath worship and a record with a place behind it.

Six years since Hagridden, their debut, and eleven since they started. "We think we made a really heavy album," they say. "Hin Hale Blues has that bluesy, slippery, swaggering feel in places, but there's also plenty of eighties doom, along with more ambient and progressive moments."

That matches what the label describes: monolithic riffs and blues grooves opening into psychedelic passages, with the whole thing anchored to the first two Black Sabbath records the way everything in this corner is. Jonas Arnberg recorded, mixed and mastered it at Sellnoise, and Andreas Bustad did the artwork.
