Leng Tch'e have put out Hammered into Collapse, their first new song in nearly a decade. It is the title track of a two song EP that Season of Mist releases on 23 October, with a second new piece called Voided.
The song is built on an image the band spelled out: a parasite that has fed on its host for twenty years and is still not full. It resolves into a repeated mechanical refrain about a mind turning black. Twenty five years into the band that reads less as horror and more as an accounting.
It was recorded at Hearse Studio with Lander Cluyse, mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Young has worked with Full of Hell and Vitriol, which places the record in the heavier corner where grind and death metal meet rather than in the punk one.
The band formed in Ghent in 2001 and have six albums, from Death by a Thousand Cuts in 2002 through ManMadePredator, The Process of Elimination, Marasmus and Hypomanic to Razorgrind in 2017, which is where the silence started.
