Leviathan release Die To This on 27 November through Profound Lore Records, with The Blade Already Forgotten Your Name out first.

Jef Whitehead, who works as Wrest, plays everything on it, as he has since starting this in San Francisco in 1998. One man black metal is common enough now to be a format rather than a novelty, and Leviathan is one of the reasons for that: the long run of tapes and splits at the start of the century is where a good part of the American version of this music was worked out.

Profound Lore have handled the project's recent records, and the label put the first song up on their own channel rather than through a premiere elsewhere.

The title of that song does what Whitehead's titles usually do, which is to sound like a line from the middle of something rather than a name for it. The album arrives on the same day as several other records this month, in a release week that has become crowded.

His last full length under this name was Scar Sighted, which is eleven years back.
