Lex Legion are recording a second album. Andy La Rocque and Pete Blakk told Pod Scum that ten or eleven songs exist in outline and that Mikkey Dee goes into the studio in about two weeks to put down the first drum tracks.
The band is four fifths of the King Diamond line-up of the late eighties, La Rocque and Blakk on guitars, Dee on drums and Hal Patino on bass, with Nils K. Rue of Pagan's Mind singing. The method Blakk describes is the old one: two guitarists bring songs in, Dee rearranges them from behind the kit, then the bass and the voice arrive.
They are not interested in the modern alternative. "We'll probably release a single or two before the second album is released," La Rocque said. "But we're still gonna release the full album. We're old school guys, doing old school things." He puts it at ten or eleven songs and forty to forty five minutes, longer than the first.
August or September next year is his guess for a release. There is also one show, in Gothenburg, in six to eight weeks, the band's first and only this year. Blakk says the two of them already have material for at least two more records.
