Lights To Remain have released "Into the Unknown", the first song from Shattered Reality, which Inverse Records put out in 2027.

It is the first thing the current line-up wrote together, which is why it leads. "Into the Unknown was the first song written by Lights to Remain's current lineup, so it felt like the natural choice for our first single," guitarist Eero Kouvo said. "It also captures the more melodic side of the album."

The subject is an unusual one for a melodic death metal band: living with an adopted animal. "Adopting a rescue animal is a leap into the unknown, but it can also be the beginning of a lifelong bond built on trust, companionship and love," Kouvo said. The band filmed the video with an animal shelter in their own region, and he says every member of the band has pets at home.

They formed in Lappeenranta in 2022 and have moved fast since: nine releases, an album in 2024, the KVLT Stage at Tuska in the summer of 2025 and radio play at home. The sound sits where nineties Finnish melodic death metal meets the metalcore that came out of the 2000s, which is a crowded junction and a durable one.
