Lizzord release Cosmic Crypt on 20 November, nine songs put out with no label behind them.
That is the fact worth noting. Four years, three singles and a growing local following, and the band are still unsigned, so the first album arrives on their own money. For thrash at this level that is now the normal route rather than the fallback, because a label advance no longer covers what a record costs.
Black Magic came out in 2024, Hellzone and Harvest Doom this year, and all three are on the album, so a third of it has been tested in public already.
They come from the Eifel, which is hills and villages rather than a city, and the song titles read like a band amusing themselves: Highspeed Hellride, Acid Exterminator, Bring Out the Dead.
One of them, TOD DEM MING!, is a joke only German speakers will catch, and it is the sort of thing a band writes when nobody is paying them to be careful.
