Lovebites will play no concerts in 2027. The band announced it themselves, in a message thanking people for their support and then saying plainly that they are taking a year away from live performances.

No reason was given and no return date was named, which is worth noting rather than filling in. A Japanese band at this level tours hard, and a full year off the stage is a decision with a cause behind it that the band has chosen not to publish.

The timing is the striking part. Outstanding Power, their fifth album, arrived this year, which is normally the point at which a power metal band spends eighteen months carrying it around Europe and Japan. Napalm Records has the record and now has a year without shows to sell it into.

Ten years in, with five albums and a line-up that has already survived one change at the front, a year of silence reads as maintenance rather than an ending. The band did not say otherwise.
