Magick Touch have announced their fifth album, Fusa, for 26 February 2027 through Edged Circle Productions, and the first song from it, "Every Last Drop", is out now.
The trio have been working out of Bergen since 2015, which in that city means working next door to black metal and sounding nothing like it. What they play is closer to the hard rock end of heavy metal, built on riffs that move rather than riffs that loom, with vocals carried in the open rather than buried.
The record was produced and mixed by Cato Bakke at Dissonans Studio and mastered by Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker in Stockholm. Pehrsson has his own history in this corner of the Scandinavian scene, and a mastering credit from him tends to mean a record that was meant to sound warm rather than loud.
Four studio albums and two live ones stand behind this one, the most recent being Cakes & Coffins in 2023. Three singles have come out since then without an album attached, so Fusa arrives after a run of loose songs rather than out of silence.
