Mannveira have shared "Bölvunin", the second song from Vesöld, which Dark Descent Records releases on 16 October. It is their second album and the first in five years.

The Reykjavík band formed in 2010 and have taken their time over everything: an EP, Von er eitur, in 2014, a split with Ellorsith two years after that, then Vítahringur in 2021, which is the record that got them heard outside Iceland. Four releases in sixteen years is not a band chasing a cycle.

"Bölvunin" follows "Lygar himinsins", which went out first, and the two together are as much of the album as anyone outside the label has heard. On the evidence of them the band have not softened the dissonant, slow burning end of Icelandic black metal that they came up in, and the seven tracks on Vesöld are unlikely to be short ones.

Dark Descent have been their label since the debut, which for a Reykjavík band working this far from any commercial centre of the genre is the whole of their distribution. Four days separate the song from the album, so this is the last of the advance material rather than the start of a campaign.
