Mar de Grises have re-signed with Season of Mist, who will release the Chilean band's fourth album in 2027. The third, Streams Inwards, came out in 2010.
Sixteen years is long enough that most bands do not come back at all, and long enough that the label relationship is worth noting on its own: Mar de Grises were Season of Mist's first South American signing, after leaving Finland's Firebox Records, and they are going back to the same door they came in through.
There is already a song. "Surrender to the Fall" arrived on 7 May and the band's own Bandcamp page calls it the first single from the record, which until now had nowhere to be released.
Two Santiago shows come first. On 30 October they headline Cryptic Celebration VII at the Teatro Cariola, alongside Poema Arcanus, Mortajas and IIII, a festival returning after seventeen years away, and on 1 November they open for Opeth. The line-up is Rodrigo Morris and Sergio Alvarez on guitars, Rodrigo Galvez on bass, Juan Escobar on vocals and synths, and Pablo Martinez on drums.
