Marble have recorded At The Gates of Destruction again, twenty years after the song first introduced them, and released it as a digital single with the words on screen.
The original sits on the Trails of Dreams and Reality demo from 2006, and the band thought enough of it at the time to name their first album after it: A.t.G.o.d. came out in 2008. The new version is heavier on symphonic arrangement and modern production, and the band are blunt about why they bothered. It is not a simple re-recording, they say, but a statement of intent.
The line up that made it is Eleonora Travaglino on vocals, Paul Beretta and Omar Gornati on guitars, Jacopo Marchesi on keyboards and Daniel Fleba on bass, with Giulio Capone of Moonlight Haze, who produced the band in an earlier period, guesting on drums.
Marble work out of Lombardy and formed in 2003. Two albums followed the first one, S.A.V.E in 2021 and T.I.M.E. in 2024, the second of them through Extreme Metal Music. Going back to the first song is a reasonable way to mark twenty years when the catalogue is that compact.
