The Polish trio Massteron are streaming their first album in full, two days before it goes on sale. Second in the Spheres is out on 24 September through ATMF, and the premiere is hosted by Black Metal Promotion.
Six tracks, thirty seven minutes, and one of them takes eleven and a half of those minutes on its own: Omnispherous Majesty closes the record. The rest run Voice of Fire, True Midnight, Achronon, Strife Eternal and Sidereal Chaoskampf. The band recorded the album live in the studio, with guitars, bass and drums playing against each other rather than being smoothed out afterwards.
The line-up is M. Warmaster on guitars and vocals, Sirious on drums and Dethonator on bass. The reference points they give are late nineties Polish black death, early Azarath, early Inquisition and Aura Noir, which is a narrow enough set of names to tell you what the record sounds like before you press play.
Achronon was the first taste of it, premiered by Decibel on 8 September. Second in the Spheres is the band's first full-length.
