Mental Cruelty have put out Frost with a video, from Echoes Of A Forlorn Land, which arrives on 23 October through Century Media Records.
The song sits inside Fimbulvetr, the winter of three years that comes before Ragnarok in Norse myth. "'Frost' shows Mental Cruelty at their coldest and captures the desolation of the Fimbul winter in the lyrics and in the music," the band said. "The dragging, atmospheric, lamenting tones are like a slow march through ice and snow that goes on for three long years. Imagine Rotting Christ meets Wardruna, a song as blackened as it is covered in white snow. I made the mask by hand myself, with a little help from my partner."
Jens Bogren produced, mixed and mastered the album, as he has for Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Kreator, Amon Amarth and Opeth. Dustin Storkebaum did the artwork. It follows Zwielicht and stays on the same road.
