Metallica have published professionally shot video of "Fade To Black" from 8 October, the third night of their Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The residency is twenty four performances arranged as twelve weekends, Thursday and Saturday, with entirely different setlists on the two nights and no song repeated between them. It is the same rule the M72 tour has run on, and at twenty four shows it means something closer to a catalogue audit than a greatest hits run.

"Fade To Black" is the song that gets wheeled out whenever a band wants to prove the quiet thing still lands in a big room, and the Sphere is the biggest version of that test anyone has built.

SPIN, reviewing a recent night, wrote that the visuals are the main focus but that the venue's sound does the band justice, and that in their sixties their playing is at its peak while wondering how long they can keep it there.

The run goes on until 13 March 2027.
