Metallica have released official footage of "Lux Aeterna" filmed at Sphere in Las Vegas on 8 October, during the Life Burns Faster residency.

It is the third song out of that run. The band previously published "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and "Devil's Dance", both shot on 3 October, and the second of those was the first performance of that song in eighteen years.

"Lux Aeterna" is the opposite case. It is the shortest and fastest thing on 72 Seasons, written to be played live, and it has been in the set almost continuously since the album appeared. What makes the clip worth watching is the room rather than the rarity: a venue built as a screen, filmed by a band who have spent four decades learning how to be photographed on a stage.

The residency has already given a blood drive and a steady drip of these films, which is how the band have chosen to document it rather than waiting for a release.
