Metallica have released a filmed Sad But True from the Sphere, taken from the show of 15 October, the same night that produced the Battery clip.
The song is from 1991 and has been in the set almost every night since, which makes it the opposite case to Battery. One was a surprise the band had not used to open a show in twelve years; this one is the piece everybody expects, filmed because the production around it is new rather than the arrangement.
Four songs from the residency are now out this way, after Leper Messiah and Until It Sleeps. At this rate the Sphere run will have released an album's worth of itself before it finishes next spring.
James Hetfield has also put his name to a limited run of EMG pickups for the company's fiftieth anniversary, two hundred sets of the JH-N and JH-B with an engraved logo he designed, on sale from 13 November. Two hundred is a small number by the standards of a band this size, which is the point of it.
The residency continues on 5 and 7 November.
