Midnight release Satanic Attack Live! on 6 November through Metal Blade Records. It comes from two sold out nights at Knucklehead in Hollywood, on 28 and 29 May, part of the Satanic Royalty fifteenth anniversary world tour.
The shape of it is the point. Ten songs from Satanic Royalty, the 2011 record, played live and left in the album's original running order, then five more on top of that, among them Shock Til Blood, T.A.P. and Fucking Speed And Darkness. A live album that reproduces a studio sequence rather than a setlist is a rarer thing than it sounds.
Mark Borders recorded it and Zach Rippy mixed and mastered it. You Can't Stop Steel is out as the first video from it.
Athenar, who has run the band out of Cleveland since 2003 and is credited with everything on the records, put it plainly enough: “Would I have ever thought there would be a Midnight live album? Ha ha, fuck no!”
