Midnight Prey release Jenseitsritt tomorrow, 25 September, through Dying Victims Productions.
Seven songs, opening on Grimoire at 6:31 and closing on the title track. Dying Victims has put out two of them ahead of the record, Torn Into Pieces and Witch King. Kaspar Hauser, the fourth, takes its name from the boy who walked into Nuremberg in 1828 claiming to have been raised in a cell, and it is the only German reference on a tracklist that is otherwise in English apart from the title.
It is the second album and the first since Uncertain Times in 2019, with the Black Cat / Sword and Shield EP in 2023 in between. The band started in Hamburg in 2012 and plays the speed metal end of the new German wave, Winston on vocals and guitar, Rico Stöckle on the second guitar, Daniel Friesen on bass and Hannes on drums.
