Midnight have released Satanic Attack Live! through Metal Blade, and Satanic Royalty went up as footage on the same day.
The album comes from two sold out nights at Knucklehead in Hollywood on 28 and 29 May, part of the tour marking fifteen years of Satanic Royalty. Ten songs from that record are played in the order they sit on it, with five more after them, among them Shock Til Blood, T.A.P. and Fucking Speed And Darkness. A live album that reproduces a studio sequence rather than a setlist is a rarer thing than it sounds, and it is the reason this one is worth more than a souvenir.
Satanic Royalty is the second song taken from it, after You Can't Stop Steel. Mark Borders recorded the shows and Zach Rippy mixed and mastered them. Athenar has run the band out of Cleveland since 2003 and is credited with everything on the studio records, which is part of why a live document took twenty three years to appear at all.
