Ministry play their last concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on 30 October 2027, a year to the day after Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery) comes out.
Al Jourgensen gave the date to Lyndsey Parker at Licorice Pizza Records, in a conversation that ran from With Sympathy, the 1982 synthpop album he spent decades disowning, to a final record that brings Paul Barker back into the band.
Asked whether he expects to be sad when it is over, he was not sentimental about it. "No. I'm gonna be in my house before they even let people backstage," he said. "Bill Burr will helicopter me home. And that night, a lot of people that have said that I've influenced them and all that, the whole night is gonna be a procession of just people saying goodbye."
He has announced endings before and kept going, which is why the specificity matters here. A building, a date and a helicopter is a different kind of statement from a farewell tour with no last night on it.
