Mizmor will support Dragged Into Sunlight across Europe and Britain next May, nineteen dates opening at the Arena in Vienna on the 5th and finishing at Hangar 34 in Liverpool on the 23rd.
The pairing is better than most. Both make music that is slow and punishing without being doom in the traditional sense, and both have spent their careers refusing the usual promotional apparatus, the Liverpool band to the point of playing with their backs to the audience in the dark.
Mizmor is A.L.N.'s project, made at home in Portland and built on losing a religion rather than adopting an aesthetic. For the road he is joined by Andrew Black, Blake Ferrin and Jordan Huston, who have played these songs with him for years, and the set will take from Prosaic and Cairn plus material nobody has heard.
The route goes through Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands before four British dates, in rooms of a few hundred rather than the halls this kind of music sometimes reaches now.
