Monastery have released Revenge Is Mine through Art Gates Records, and the label is streaming all eight songs.

The last of them is Divine Damnation, marked as a 2026 version, which means the band went back for something from their own past rather than ending on new material. That is the kind of decision a group makes when the catalogue is long enough to argue with.

It is long. They formed in Zalaegerszeg in 1989, which puts them among the first death metal bands Hungary produced, and Metal Archives counts seventeen releases with six full lengths. There was a stretch in the middle where the music went towards nu metal, and the early and late records are the ones people mean when they name the band.

Chase the Heretics, Kingdom of Rot and I Woke Dead came out ahead of the album across the last two years, at roughly one a year, so the record has been assembled in public.

Art Gates are a Spanish label with a roster from everywhere, and this is the kind of band that reaches an audience through one.
