Moonspell will play Belgrade on 2 April 2027 at Zappa Barka, on the God Is a Vampire tour, with Iotunn as special guests and the Spanish duo TodoMal opening.
The support booking is the interesting half. Iotunn have spent the last few years turning progressive and melodic death metal into something closer to orchestration than riffing, and putting them under a gothic metal headliner gives both audiences something they did not come for.
The tour carries Far From God, the album Napalm Records released in July after five years of silence, which Jaime Gomez Arellano produced. His other records, for Paradise Lost, Sólstafir and Ghost, explain the sound of it: the band's old atmosphere with the modern weight underneath.
Moonspell have been going since 1992, and the line-up that reaches Belgrade is the one that has held for years: Fernando Ribeiro, Ricardo Amorim, Pedro Paixão, Aires Pereira and Hugo Ribeiro.
