Moonspell have announced Moonfest, a one day festival at the MEO Arena in Lisbon on 30 October 2027, built to mark thirty five years of the band.

They picked the bill themselves. Amorphis come from Finland, Zeal & Ardor from Switzerland, Towards The Sinister from Britain and Heavenwood from Portugal, and Heavenwood open the night before the guests and then the hosts. Four support acts in one arena is a festival in name and a very large headline show in practice, which is the shape anniversary events of this kind usually take.

Moonspell promise the biggest production of their career and a set covering more than three decades, from Wolfheart and Irreligious through Night Eternal and 1755.

Putting it in Lisbon rather than touring it is the decision worth noting. A band that has spent thirty five years exporting Portuguese metal is asking the audience to travel to Portugal instead, and the arena they have chosen is the largest indoor room in the country.

Tickets go on sale in two phases.
