Moonspell have announced Moonfest 2027, the first festival they have put on themselves, at the MEO Arena in Lisbon on 30 October 2027.

The occasion is thirty five years of the band, and they close the night with an extended set. Amorphis come from Finland, Zeal & Ardor from Switzerland, and Towards The Sinister from the United Kingdom, that last one founded by original members of My Dying Bride. Heavenwood open the day and are marking thirty years of their own, with new material behind them.

A band hosting a one day festival in an arena in their own capital is a different proposition from headlining somebody else's, and the bill reads like one assembled by people rather than by an agency. Two Portuguese bands with sixty five years between them, the Finnish band whose catalogue runs parallel to Moonspell's own, and a British act carrying the first line up of one of the records that made this kind of music possible.

Standard passes are fifty euros and Golden Circle tickets seventy five, the latter including a festival shirt, a wristband and early entry. The presale opens on 9 November.
