Moorah have released The Beast Called Ego through Art Gates Records, and the label has put the whole record up as a single stream.

Six songs, and the sequence ends where the band's own year began. Demon za krkem, the one song in Czech, closes the album and is also the title of the EP they put out earlier in 2026, which makes the record a loop back to their spring rather than a clean break from it. The phrase means the demon at your neck.

Four of the titles carry the concept from four directions, and all four name something built too big. Breitspurbahn was the three metre gauge railway meant to cross a conquered Europe and never laid. The Vasa was the Swedish warship so loaded with guns and carving that it sank in Stockholm harbour twenty minutes into its first voyage in 1628. Eternal Ahasver is the wandering figure of medieval legend who is not allowed to stop. Left Hand of Darkness opens the record and borrows from Ursula K. Le Guin.

The band have worked out of Prague since 2019 and this is their second album, after Marnost nad marnost in 2021. Art Gates have it on CD.
