Central America does not produce much death doom, which is part of why this band keeps getting noticed. Morbid Stench release their third album, Doom Metastasis, on 2 October through Nuclear Winter Records and Putrid Cult, on LP, CD and cassette.
Hyperbolic is out as the first song. The band describe the record as a concept album that follows a process from inner decay to complete regeneration, putting biological imagery against questions of identity, inevitability and the cyclical shape of existence, and say the structure is meant to make it a journey rather than a collection of separate songs.
The band formed in 2014 and are split between El Salvador and Costa Rica: Morbid on guitars and bass, Purulent on drums and The Master Butcher on vocals, unchanged since the beginning.
