The Mosaic Window have released "Lightning Be Thy Guide", the second song from Answered Prayers, which Vesperian put out on 13 November. Ten tracks, and the whole record is built on one question: whether a poisoned world could only be saved by erasing the people who poisoned it.
Andrew Steven Brown runs the project alone, and he has made this one deliberately narrower than the last. Hemasanctum, from 2024, mixed death and black metal with progressive writing and a clean production. Answered Prayers goes back to the first and second waves and leaves most of that behind.
What it does not do is speed up, and that is the interesting part. A band returning to early black metal usually returns to the tempo as well. "Lightning Be Thy Guide" is the slower of the two songs released so far, with the cold melody carrying it rather than the drums.
Pre orders are open. For a one man project on a small label, a ten track album in that register is a lot of writing to do without anyone to argue with.
