Motörhead have put out a remixed "Built For Speed", the second piece of a fortieth anniversary edition of Orgasmatron that BMG release on 6 November. Cameron Webb did the remix.

What makes this more than a catalogue exercise is that the announcement says out loud why the remix exists. Bill Laswell produced the original, and the statement credits him before contradicting him: "Bill's work stands in its own right as something special in the Motörhead library, and Orgasmatron stands as one hell of an album. However, there was some controversy in the sense that both Lemmy and Phil Campbell felt that some of the power, bite and energy had been lost in Laswell's final delivery."

That complaint has followed the record for four decades. Laswell gave it a dry, separated sound that almost nobody else in 1986 was making, and the band who played it wanted the thing to hit harder. Both positions survive here: the set carries the remastered original mix and the Webb remix side by side rather than replacing one with the other.

It comes as a deluxe 3LP bookpack and a 2CD, with studio rehearsals and outtakes from 1985 and the complete BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show session from 1986. There is also a single LP on transparent violet vinyl carrying the remastered original and nothing else.
