Necromass have signed to Dusktone, who will release the Italian band's next studio album in the middle of 2027. The band say they are going into the studio for it.
The arithmetic is the story. Necromass formed in Florence in 1992 and have put out three full-lengths in thirty four years: Mysteria Mystica Zofiriana in 1994, Abyss Calls Life in 1996, and then a seventeen year gap before Calix. Utero. Babalon. in 2013. A 2027 release would land fourteen years after that one, which for this band counts as a brisk turnaround.
Dusktone is the Italian label that has been quietly collecting exactly this sort of catalogue, and it signed Iskald earlier in the year for the album it releases on Friday. A label betting on a band whose last album predates most of its current roster is a bet on the back catalogue as much as the new one, and on a name that the black metal underground has kept warm without much help.
