Nemecic have released Petrol and Spark, the first thing to arrive from an EP that Inverse Records will put out before the end of the year.
Five years is a long gap for a band of this size. The Last Magic in Practice came out in 2021 and nothing full length has followed it, although singles have kept appearing, which is the pattern of a group that works around the jobs rather than between tours.
An EP rather than an album is the honest format for that. Four or five songs can be recorded in the time a band like this actually has, and it keeps a label interested without demanding a year of nobody's life.
Metal Archives files them as death and thrash metal and Thrashocore as melodic death, and both are right depending on which song is playing. They formed in 2008 between Jyvaskyla and Jamsa, and the writing has always sat on that line.
Petrol and Spark is a title with a very short fuse in it, and the song is built the same way.
