Nevermore playing "The River Dragon Has Come" at Bloodstock on 8 August is out as a professionally filmed recording, which makes it the first proper look at what this version of the band does on a stage.
That matters more than a festival clip usually would. The band had been gone for most of fifteen years and the new chapter started in Turkey, in front of an audience that had never had the chance to see them at all. Everything since has been built on word of mouth from rooms that small.
The song is from The Politics of Ecstasy, which is 1996 and which the band have always treated as the record where the writing settled. Choosing it as the one piece of professionally shot footage to release says something about what they intend this run to be.
The Liminal Spaces tour opens in Berlin on 29 April and closes with two nights in Turkey at the end of May, which is a deliberate circle.
