Nicke Andersson has signed his first genuinely solo album to Sound Pollution. It is called Nicke Andersson and Nobody Else, and the title is a description of the credits: every instrument, the production and the artwork are his.
That is a notable thing for this particular musician to have waited until 2026 to do. He drummed on Entombed's first records, having come up through Nihilist before that, co-founded The Hellacopters in 1994, left Entombed in 1998, and has since run or played in The Hydromatics, The Solution, Death Breath, Imperial State Electric and Lucifer, producing for other people along the way. Nearly four decades of work, almost all of it inside a band.
Sound Pollution are a Swedish operation and the natural home for it. What they have bought is still largely undefined: no release date, no lead single, no tracklist. The themes are reported as ambition, exhaustion, love and identity, which reads less like a press release than like a list somebody wrote for themselves.
A label signing a record with none of those details settled is a bet on the name rather than on the material, and in Sweden that name is worth the bet.
