Night Gaunt release Rupture tomorrow through Aural Music, and the whole record is already streaming.

Ten songs, from Of Clouds and Gleam to The End, and the titles tell you what kind of doom this is before a note plays. The Deer and the Hunter, The Revenant, September Song: this is the slow, narrative end of the genre rather than the riff driven one.

They take their name from Lovecraft, where a night gaunt is a faceless thing that carries people away without a sound, and the band have been working under it in Rome since 2013.

Eight years have passed since The Room, their last album, with an EP in 2020 and then nothing. A band that puts out a record once a decade is either finished or very deliberate, and releasing the whole thing a day early suggests the second.

Of Clouds and Gleam went out with a video ahead of the album, and it is the opening track.
