Nihilo have released Dishonored Death with a lyric video, the last song out before Abyss. The album arrives on 3 November through Xtreem Music.

Twenty three years is how long this band from Bern have been at it, and the record is being presented as the darkest and most aggressive thing they have made. That claim is routine in a press release and less routine here, because the catalogue actually shows the movement: Dum Spiro Spero in 2014, Doom in 2018, Resolution in 2022, each one harsher than the last.

What has been getting into the old school death metal is black metal and hardcore, in roughly that order, which is why the later material sounds denser rather than faster. Ragulan Vivekananthan has sung for them since 2003 and is the only man left from the first line-up.

The two years before this album were spent on a compilation and a live record, Made of Lies and Chaos Unleashed, which is what a band does when the next studio album is not ready and the shows keep coming. Theirs have included nights with Possessed and Suffocation.
