Norther are coming back in 2027, more than fifteen years after they stopped, and they are coming back with the line-up from the years that made their name: Petri Lindroos on vocals and guitar, Kristian Ranta on guitar, Jukka Koskinen on bass, Tuomas Planman on keyboards and Heikki Saari on drums.

"15 years of rest on ice did us good, and now it's time to return to the stages," Lindroos said. "There were many places we didn't get to play back then, and now is their time. We're really excited to see where this road takes us."

The first two confirmed shows are Wacken Open Air in Germany and Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic, both in the summer of 2027, with more festivals and touring to be announced. It is not only a live return: the band say they are writing new music now.

They started in 1996 as Requiem and took the name Norther in 1999, and were one of the Finnish melodic death metal bands the rest of the world actually heard, from Mirror of Madness in 2003 through Death Unlimited, Till Death Unites Us and N.
