Oerheks will release De Stroom on 24 November, a debut album of four songs and roughly forty one minutes, through Amor Fati Productions on CD and vinyl and Babylon Doom Cult on cassette.

The subject is water, and specifically one stretch of it: ancient seas, floods, and the way the Demer has moved across the Hageland in Flanders. Three of the four tracks run past nine minutes and one goes to nearly fifteen, which is what it takes to write about a river rather than about a feeling.

Behind it is Hans Cools, also of Silver Knife and LVTHN, who has been releasing Oerheks recordings since the Cagghenvinna demo in 2022. Five demos came before this album, two of them long enough to have been albums themselves, which makes the debut a decision about format rather than a first attempt.

"De Vloed Vervloekt" is out now as the preview. The packaging takes its cues from classical and film soundtrack LPs of the seventies, eighties and nineties.
