Orbital Gate have released Engineering His Planetary Dominion through DOGI Recordings, and Slam Worldwide have the whole record up as one stream.
The five guests announced in September are all on it: Enterprise Earth, Bodysnatcher, The Callous Daoboys, ALESSA and Pillars Of Autumn. Five names on one slam album is still an unusual number, and hearing them in sequence rather than one single at a time is the first honest test of whether the record holds together or reads as a guest list.
Eva Van Dyne has run the project alone out of Illinois since 2023 and is credited with everything on the records. This is the fourth release in three years, counting an EP, which is a pace that would be reckless in most genres and is close to standard in this one. A producer with a drum machine, a good ear and no schedule to answer to can work faster than a band, and slam has built most of its catalogue that way.
Slam Worldwide premiering the stream is the distribution that matters here, more than any shop would be.
