Orbital Gate have put out Liquefying Organic Matter with a music video, from Engineering His Planetary Dominion, which arrives on 6 November.
Enterprise Earth guest on that track, and they are one of five: Bodysnatcher, The Callous Daoboys, ALESSA and Pillars Of Autumn are on the record too. Five guests on one slam album is a lot, and it says something about how quickly this project has gathered people around it.
Orbital Gate is one person. Eva Van Dyne has run it out of Cary, Illinois since 2023 and is credited with everything on it, three albums and an EP in three years. Slam is a genre where a solo producer with a drum machine and a good ear is not a compromise but the standard working method, and this is what it looks like when it moves fast.
