Aaron F. Silva, who founded Oxidised Razor and was the last original member still playing in them, died on 1 November. The news came through other bands in the Mexican scene.

He started the group in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl in 1998 and kept it working for twenty eight years, through forty one releases. Six of those are full lengths and the rest are splits, demos and EPs, which is the shape a goregrind catalogue takes: a lot of short records traded with other bands rather than a line of albums.

That kind of output is only possible when one person refuses to let a band stop. Line-ups around him changed constantly, and Metal Archives lists twenty four people who have passed through, with him the one fixed point.

The most recent album, Stench, Putrefaction and Death, came out in 2024 on Diablos Records, and splits followed this year.

No cause has been given, and the band have not yet said what happens next.
