Andrew Watt has confirmed that there are Ozzy Osbourne recordings nobody has heard, and that he is not ready to go back to them.
"There are some songs that we made for a specific reason," he told Rolling Stone. "And, yeah, that's all I can say. They're hard for me to listen to." Asked whether they will come out, he answered "kind of", which is a producer describing a conversation that has happened without a decision at the end of it.
What he was willing to describe at length was the night before the Villa Park show. He had been out for curry with Sharon Osbourne when Ozzy started texting from his hotel, insisting he come over. Watt and Sharon hesitated, because of what the next day was. Ozzy kept asking.
So Watt turned up with food and the two of them sat and played back the music they had made together, Ozzy drawing while they listened, the way he always did, stopping to make notes. "That and the next day were the last times I got to see him," Watt said.
