Pale Reflection have released Fading Daylight, their first album, out today with no label behind it. The band formed in Brazil in 2017 and until now had three songs to their name, all from 2019.
Those three are on the record. "When the Bell Tolls", "Doomed by the Sun" and "12 Killers" came out as singles seven years ago and sit here among five new ones, which makes the album read less like a debut than like a band finally putting the whole thing in one place. Eight tracks, a little under forty four minutes, opening with the instrumental "Mourning Dusk" and closing on the title song.
One of the new pieces is called "Le Horla", after the Maupassant story about a man haunted by something he cannot see, and at seven and a half minutes it is the longest thing on the record.
The album is out digitally and independently.
