Paradogmata have released their version of Kråkevisa, a traditional Norwegian folk song, with Ingvild Johannesen, who records as Sareeta, playing Hardanger fiddle and violin on it.

The subtitle matters. This is the Bløtkakeversjon, which sits between two other readings the band have made: a bleaker one without folk instruments or choirs, and one where the fiddle and the folk voices carry the whole thing. All three appear on an EP called Necrosian Tastings, which arrives in late July ahead of the album Necrosian Litanies in early 2027.

What they have done to the melody is the usual Norwegian trick and still an effective one. The tune is old and everybody there knows it; played at this speed, with the fiddle cutting across the guitars, it stops being folklore and becomes something harder to place. The band have been performing it live through 2026 and say it has landed every time.

They formed in Trondheim in 2018 playing melodic thrash and have moved steadily outward since, through black, death, doom and progressive metal. This is the first recording by the line-up that settled in 2025, when Øystein Iversen came in on guitar and Kim Sætre on drums.
