Party Cannon have pulled out of Deathtober Fest in Liege, Belgium, on 10 October. One member, who the band has not named, has a medical problem that leaves him unable to travel.
The band's explanation is the part worth reading. They were already playing with a fill in drummer, and with a second gap in the line up they decided they could not put on a performance that met their own standard, so they withdrew rather than send an improvised version of the band to Belgium.
That is a more expensive choice than it looks. A festival slot abroad is booked months out, the flights are paid, and a band at this level does not get the money back. Cancelling a day ahead also leaves the promoter in Liege without a replacement.
The North American run is so far untouched. Party Cannon open with Nekrogoblikon, Aborted and Signs of the Swarm on 16 October in Phoenix and stay out through November, which is five weeks of dates that depend on everyone being fit to fly.
