Perpetual Warfare have released N.N. (6402) with a video, the second song out since they signed to M-Theory Audio. It is sung in Spanish and it is about the part of recent Colombian history the title points at.
N.N. is what a body goes to the ground as when nobody has identified it. Camilo Munoz, who sings and plays guitar, told Kronos Mortus that the song confronts a history he believes those in power would rather suppress, and that it is a tribute to the victims. His words about it are four: no one can erase history. He calls what lies behind the song what the band considers a state policy of genocide.
The physical release is the other half of the story. N.N. (6402) and Nihil Sumus share a double A-side seven inch, pressed on bone coloured vinyl, three hundred copies, sold by mail order and off the merch table. A band twenty years into the Colombian underground does not press a record like that to reach a market.
What they play has Bay Area and Teutonic thrash in it in roughly equal parts, and it has got harsher as the subject matter has. A new album is planned for spring 2027, which would be their first since Earthliens in 2018.
